Example use of the Portable version CF furnace camera
Image below is the basic CF camera system with a 24″ lens probe. Auto Retract is not shown in this view. A variety of mounts exist for various boiler and or furnace wall concerns.
Bass Electronics CF Series Steel High Temperature Furnace or Boiler Cameras provide real time CCTV viewing of extreme temperature locations up to 4000°F/2204°C. These cameras are ideally for permanent installation to observe conditions inside operating boilers, furnaces, kilns, reactors, burning bio-diesel, biomass, coal, gas, MSW, oil, wood etc. Contact us for more information.
Graphic below shows camera installed into a boiler sidewall and provides a full view of the bed or floor of the boiler. This is a typical installation profile for a stoker grate or fluidized bed type boiler

- Three distinct types of wide angle viewing lenses are available. ( The “cone-of-vision” shown, approximates the projected image of the various CF furnace camera probe types.)
Type 1: FORWARD VIEWING, WIDE ANGLE LENS PROBES:
Pictured above is the forward viewing type probe. It is the most common. Probe lengths vary from 24”-72”/609-1828mm and field of view angles vary form 20-120 degrees horizontal.
Type 2: 45° OFF-AXIS VIEWING, WIDE ANGLE LENS PROBES:
Above 45° off-axis lens is the second most common lens probe tip. It provides a wide angle view whose center, optical axis is 45°off-axis to the probe shaft. It allows the camera to view down, up, left or right of the probe axis and yet not under-utilize the field of view by viewing the wall penetrated by the probe. Probe lengths vary from 24″-72″/609-1828mm and field of view angles vary from 20°-90° horizontal.
Type 3: 90° OFF-AXIS VIEWING, WIDE ANGLE LENS PROBES:
Above 90-degree off-axis lens is lens probe tip. It provides a wide-angle view whose center, optical axis is 90° off-axis to the probe shaft. It allows the camera to view downward, upward, left or right of the probe axis. This design is most used when the need is to view off-axis and also that the probe insertion angle will be other than 90° to the wall. Probe lengths vary form 24”-72”/609-1828mm and field of view angles vary from 20°-90° horizontal.
